Minecraft 26.3 Snapshot 9
Official source by Java Team ·

Java Edition’s 26.3 Snapshot 9 arrived a day early and focuses on Realms quality-of-life as much as raw changelog volume. The headline for realm owners is new control over how far the world draws and how far it simulates.
Owners can raise render distance as high as 25 chunks and set render distance separately from simulation distance. That split is meant to help hosts tune performance versus how “alive” the world feels for players.
Outside Realms, the snapshot also tweaks a few gameplay edge cases — including how Endermen take projectile damage while riding something, and rules that keep Endermen and Shulkers from teleporting onto bedrock.
On macOS, Controls settings gain an optional Right Click Emulation mode so Control + left-click can act as a right-click. It stays off by default for players who do not need it.
Snapshots are experimental Java builds. Open the Minecraft Launcher, enable snapshots under Installations, then create a dedicated profile. Always back up worlds or keep test saves in a separate folder, because snapshot worlds can break or refuse to load later.
Features and technical details can still change before a full release, so treat anything you try here as temporary. If something looks wrong, report it on the Minecraft issue tracker and keep an eye on later snapshots for follow-up fixes.

Session vibe
Snapshot 9 is the Realms distance dial night: render up to 25 chunks, simulation on its own slider, hosts learning what their hardware can actually hold. Invite one trusted tester, nudge settings in small steps, and keep music low so FPS complaints stay audible in chat.
Player checklist
- Raise render distance two chunks at a time while a friend flies the horizon — stop when frames dip, not when the slider maxes.
- Keep simulation distance lower than render if farms feel fine but the view still wants drama.
- Write down the sweet-spot pair for your Realm so you are not guessing again next snapshot.

Suggested vibe: wide highland wind beds with soft horizon shimmer — big-view testing without combat clutter.
