Minecraft Movie Build Challenge winner announcement

The Minecraft Movie Build Challenge wrapped with more than 21,000 entries—the largest community build contest in Minecraft history. After jury review and community voting, the Grand Prize goes to Lightning Rod Lighthouse by Francisco C.M., a detailed tundra home perched on ice that won over both judges and players.
The twist: every Finalist build is headed into A Minecraft Movie Squared or its end credits, not only the single winner. The on-screen roster is Lightning Rod Lighthouse (Grand Prize), Copper Badlands Castle by Rosanna C., and Tranquil Taiga Tower by Iola Y., with Tree Village by Ben V. recognized as an Honorable Mention that will also appear.
That Honorable Mention comes from a process correction. After Finalists were announced and voting had started, the team confirmed Tree Village used blocks from multiple biomes, which broke the challenge rules. It was removed from Grand Prize contention, Tranquil Taiga Tower advanced from the semifinals as the build that should have made the cut, and Tree Village still earns a movie cameo thanks to community and filmmaker support.
Mojang chose not to restart voting so existing Finalist votes would not be wiped. Exact placement in the film is up to Warner Bros.—it may be in the feature or the credits—and small cinematic tweaks are possible while keeping each build’s spirit intact.
A Minecraft Movie Squared is scheduled for theaters on July 23, 2027. Congratulations to everyone who entered; keep an eye out for those community builds when the sequel hits the big screen.
